Hey, just thought I stop by to update real fast. Number 1, I have an audition for an actual, honest to God, professional theatre company on the 10th of this month. Number 2, I still don't have a song to audition with... so, that that then... Number 3, I've entered a competition on Facebook, the "Thespians: The Movie Broadway Challenge". So, if you head over to www.facebook.com/thespiansthemovie , like their page, click over to the Broadway Challenge, and vote for me, it would be greatly appreciated, I just need to stay in the top 20. And finally, I've started updating my Youtube channel on a regular basis! My goal for this month is to release a video every day, so if you're at all interested in that head on over to www.youtube.com/jowil93 and check out what I have to offer. That's all for now folks, DFTBA.

Well guys, I was accepted to the Young Actor's Conservatory at Stages Repertory Theatre... And that's the big news! I will be beginning there on July 11, it is a 4 week intensive program where I will be trained in a professional environment, by professional people... so, it's pretty darn awesome. I just finished a production of "Annie Jr.", in which I played as Rooster. That was an experience. I worked with an extremely talented group of young ones, and had a wonderful time with it. We took that production to the Texas Non Profit Theatres Youth Conference where I had wonderfully informative wonderfully intense workshops; and I met amazing people around every corner. Storytime is still in post-production... I think they're having trouble finding someone to score it. Oh well, patience is a virtue. And speaking of patience, I'm patiently awaiting my casting call call from the Texas Renaissance Festival... it should be coming in any day now. Well, that's all I can say for the time being, so (to end with a concept that's all too important) DFTBA!

Well, I haven't updated in a long time, so let's start in 2010.

The Renaissance Festival ended in November. It is March, and I will be reintroduced to it in June... oh how time flies. It was an amazing experience. I wouldn't have traded it for anything in the world, and I'll miss it for a few more months.
The film, Storytime, I worked on had a reshoot on the last few scenes. I got some new experience with stage combat on film, and blood... lots of blood. Also, I got a great insight into the creative aspects of film. The building we shot at had no power. Because of this lack of power our lights sources were comprised of candles, a lantern, and one lamp once we got an extension cord.
I auditioned for a friends musical, Floyd Collins. But unfortunately there was not a large enough group of people to make a final decision, and I will be re-auditioning over Spring Break. She is doing this musical in the hopes she can create a student focused community theatre troupe, Bit of a Stretch.
And that brings me to 2011, which I will proceed to break down by month.
-January, nothing.
-February, I have been cast as Nunzio in my schools current one-act production of "Over the River and Through the Woods." A particular challenge for myself as I must play a seventy-something year-old man.
-March, more "Over the River and Through the Woods."
Presently I am waiting for an upcoming production at my community theatre to audition, and waiting for Floyd Collins auditions. If all goes well I will be running two musicals in the time between now and Renaissance Festival. Fingers crossed.

Yes, it has been a while. At school I was cast as  Lysander in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" not much to that except, because of band and Ren Fest, I only attended 2 full rehearsals. Not the best thing when your part was as large as mine, but because of the way our company has grown and bonded, the chemistry was there on stage and we all pulled it together and actually set a school record for theatre by selling over 300 tickets and making our program a good (+/-)$600, so we won't have empty pockets going into One-Act Play competition this year! We'll have a bigger company, a bigger set, and more wonderful actors and actresses to choose from. Texas Renaissance Festival has officially begun! If you're anywhere in Texas, check it out, you won't be disappointed. I was only there this weekend on Sunday... 10/10/10... I work weddings, it was a long and tedious day, we had 12 weddings, 6 were part of a mass wedding, and then there was one every hour on the hour until 4 of the o' clock, and des[ite this I still had an amazing time. My group spent a great amount of time together and accosted many patrons (and one Italian who didn't know his place). That's about it, I'll talk to you as soon as something interesting happens.

This weekend there was no rehearsing at TRF, just lots of work, heavy lifting, painting, drilling, you name it, but it was incredibly fun. Basically I rode around on the back of a John Deere all day with some other guys, it was nice to actually be able to see the entire park for once. At school we auditioned for "A Midsummer Night's Dream"... fun, but it should be, I am Lysander, because I can actually read Shakespeare, good fun. That's it for now, I can't wait for my schedule to be clear for other projects in December (even though I really am enjoying the renaissance festival), so whene'er something interestin

The plot thickens, some assets have been frozen and some people may be fired at the Renaissance Festival. Basically, sometime 2 weeks from now the director is going to come to our groups and ask us to present something and if he feels like we haven't advanced to the place we should be we will be fired. Sounds scary right? Not really, I'm honestly not worried, I'm not saying I'm the best, but I know I'm not the worst, and I know exactly what to do so, not that big of a deal. Yet another amazing weekend at the Festival, we practiced group juggling (a part of one of our path shows) and really just had fun with plenty of interesting improv games. Next weekend is labor day weekend, no work, but there is an optional work day during which we can earn some tickets so... I'll be there. Plus, I would miss everyone, I couldn't handle being gone for a week, as sappy as that sounds. Well, tomorrow's Monday, auditions at school on Thursday, I'll talk to you then.

Well, I've made it through the first two Texas Renaissance Festival rehearsal... and forgot to update this site. It's still as amazing as it was at orientation, I've made a bunch of friends, even some close friends (though we've known each other for a total of 4 days really). I'm having a bit of trouble with some stuff, but I'm not at liberty to talk about it and the problem should be solved temporarily by Saturday, and permanently in a few weeks. We're planning some path shows in my group (The Yeomen of the Guard of the Body of the King), and they're going to be great, very physical, I think we've come to a point where we've decided our group is like The 8 Stooges. At school, which I'll post in greater detail about in the "Life" blog, we're preparing to put on "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and guess where we're going to end up performing it... The Texas Renaissance Festival. So even on my day off I'm going to be hard at work, but honestly I think that's great because, as a patron who knows some of the intricacies of my fellow cast members' characters, I should be able to heighten the experience for my peers and possibly ease the work for my co-workers. Now, really fast before I end this one, no information on how "Storytime"'s doing in post-production... I kind of expected it to be done by now, Spring Film Group is starting their September project now so I'm hoping both  "Storytime" and their August project "Tomboys" will be released at some point next month. And now, I have nothing more to say.

A 14 hour day for about 15 minutes of film... oh what a day. Everyone was wonderful, I feel they worried about me a bit too much as a minor, but that came with being filming until 12:30 and having to stay in the city where we filmed over night with my aunt who showed up a bit early because I wasn't positive on times. That was an interesting experience though, I really hope I get a chance to work with those people again... I don't know whether to say company or what. I was disappointed in myself initially, I felt I didn't express my first bit of screen time emotionally to it's fullest potential, but I felt better at the end when... well lets just say I needed to be emotional there, and I was. I can't think of much more to say other than, first TRF rehearsal in a week and a half!

I've decided it's high time I post here again. First things first, my TRF "New Performer Orientation" was amazing, everyone was wonderful, and I didn't feel out of place for a moment (even when I was pretending I was a cockroach). I cannot wait for our first rehearsal in August (too long to wait). (Boy I'm using parentheses a lot). Anyway, in the time since my last post I''ve gotten another audition for a short film titled "Storytime," and in the time since my last post I've gotten the role I auditioned for, it's great I get to do some stuff which is totally out of character for me... I won't spoil anything about this film, but I'm sure you would agree, even if you don't really know me, just by reading this, if you saw it. I have my first ever film shoot this Sunday, it's going to be awesome! I'm supposed to have rehearsal tomorrow, but I have no ride so... I don't, which sucks because I was really looking forward to meeting my fellow cast members. Oh well, that's all I can really think of for now, so I'll talk to you later.

Today I submitted my resume to a casting call put out by The Spring Film Group for a short film titled "Storytime." I don't know too many details right now, but if all goes well I'll receive an e-mail in and be cleared for an audition.
